My friend has purchased some dutch rims for his Velosolex s3800 1966 model. Unfortunately as the rims are a different configuration we are unable to work out what the spoke sizes are suppose to be. The Dutch rims have the ridge around the circumference, where as the French rims are flat. The rear drum hub is an Atom 28 and the front hub it the standard size for this model. Is there anyone who can help with spoke sizes?

Rear 192/13.
Front 218/13.

Welcome to the Solex forum.

Some wheels are single crossed, others are double or even triple crossed. Also the shape of the rim may vary.
To be sure what is the right size, check it with a spoke length calculator.
Here's a handy tool to find out the right sizes.

All values must be filled in in millimeters.

1. The hub: links (left); center; rechts (right)

2. The spokes:
Choose the number of crossings for the left and right side of the rim

3. The rim:
Inner diameter rim
Tickness rim
Number of spokes

4. Press on "bereken mijn spaaklengte"

Note: for the thickness of te spoke, check the rim holes. The nipple must fit into the hole, but the nipple head must be large enough, so that the rim hole resist the spoke tension.

Thanks everyone for your help. I think we'll have a go at the spoke calculator to confirm the sizes given by John Meiser. I have been put onto this forum by Brian in New York. There is a lot of good information here and plenty of people who know what they are talking about. And Johnnie I can easily understand what you are saying so your English is very good. A lot better than my Dutch!
